Each year it keeps getting bigger and better - now the Supper Club is back for its fifth year.

But those who want to take part in the annual fundraiser for Ronald McDonald Family Retreat at Ngongotaha need to get in fast, with tickets flying out the door.

The popular fundraising event is on Wednesday, April 2 but people have been busy reserving tickets since the date was announced late last year.

Organiser Linley Parry said there were just a few tables left for the event, which kept growing year after year.

Mrs Parry said there was something mystical and special about the event which captured people's attention.

"Each year it keeps getting bigger and better and more amazing."

Details were still being confirmed but Mrs Parry said so far about 30 restaurants would be taking part.

The evening begins at the Novotel Rotorua Lakeside at 5.30pm where there are cocktails and canapes, auctions and the random draw of restaurants and lodges for dinner.

Mrs Parry said there was a real energy in the room when the restaurants were announced and with such a variety of places, people were excited to see where they were going.

She said sometimes people might go to a restaurant which they hadn't been to or hadn't been to for a long time, and it was a great opportunity to "rekindle" with the venue.

The general feeling was that the restaurants taking part had been incredibly generous supporting the event, so people were happy to go wherever.

Last year the event raised $58,000 with all the proceeds going directly to the operational cost of the Ronald McDonald Family Retreat.
