There was plenty of fun to be had at Arawa Park yesterday for the annual Family Fun Day at the races.

After sending their men to work in the morning Dorren Mitchell, Kelly Parker and Sharon Caulfield decided it would be the perfect opportunity to get together with the kids and wager a few coins on their favourite horses.

The little ones were entertained with bouncy castles, games and rides with Newfoundland dogs behind the main stands. Punters also got to enjoy live music from the stands and the action on course.

"We just came down for the day with the family. All the kids are cousins," Mrs Parker said.

"We have a little bit of a flutter, not too much. The kids like to choose their favourite number or a name they like. It's all just a bit of fun," she said.
