Games, clowns, a bouncy castle, face painting and a sausage sizzle are on offer at Rotorua Aquatic Centre on Sunday as part of the centre's '$3 Sunday' promotion during Sport Bay of Plenty's Water Month.

November is Water Month and the Rotorua Lakes Council swimming facility is kicking off its
celebrations with Carnival Day on Sunday from 10am to 3pm with a special $3 charge covering pool and spa entry.

Rotorua Aquatic Centre manager David Pearce said the idea was for families to get out and get active, while enjoying fun events at the pool complex at an "extremely affordable price".

"With summer approaching, Water Month is a great opportunity to help educate our community about being safe around water, and at the same time we're providing an opportunity for local children and families to enjoy an affordable fun day out.

"Along with a bouncy castle and face painting, Carnival Day will also offer scavenger hunts, diving for treasure, big bubbles and boat races, and we'll have more fun Sunday events throughout November."

The '$3 Sunday' promotion includes a 'swim-and-spa' deal for the five Sundays of November, to help celebrate Water Month.

Rotorua Aquatic Centre Water Month will also include:

November 8, 10am to 3pm:
Inflatables, mini tramp, Tarzan swing, giant board games, free BBQ use.

November 15, 10am to 3pm:
Fun for Toddlers (7 and under) - inflatable, rock fishing, Oodles of Noodles, games and prizes for children 7 and under.

November 22, 10 to 3pm:
Fun for Kids (8 and over) - inflatable, scavenger hunt, bombing competition, tramp.

November 29, 10am to 4pm:
Want a Go at Water Sports - snorkelling, aqua aerobics, kayaks, water polo, mini TRYathlon.
