Tauranga City Utd AFC will also travel to the big city to face the University of Auckland side in their second round clash of the Chatham Cup

Tauranga City Utd AFC will also travel to the big city to face the University of Auckland side in their second round clash of the Chatham Cup

Ngongotaha AFC face another Chatham Cup trip to Auckland, and a second-round clash that promises a much sterner test than the club's last visit to the smoke.

After a comfortable 5-2 first round victory away at Bucklands Beach last Saturday, the Villagers have been drawn against Three Kings United in a fixture scheduled for the Queen's Birthday Weekend (May 31-June 1).

Three Kings play in the Lotto NRFL Men's Premier league and are no strangers to the latter stages of Chatham Cup. They made the final in 2009, losing 2-1 to Wellington Olympic.

Following hassle-free games in the qualifying and opening rounds, Ngongotaha must be hoping to recapture the giant-killing spirit of last season's cup campaign .

Villagers coach Shane Davis said he didn't know very much about Three Kings, apart from the fact they were "four or five divisions above us".

But he was confident his team were up to the task.

"It doesn't really worry us whoever it is. On a good day, we have got a good chance of beating anyone."

"It will be a challenge, but as long as the guys are focused on the day they can do pretty much anything."

Three Kings are third in the NRFL Men's Premier league. One player Ngongotaha will have to try to contain is prolific striker Allan Pierce, who is the Premier league's top scorer with 15 goals.

Davis' main concern was ensuring the game was not played on the Monday of the long weekend - an event that would make travelling to and from Auckland difficult for some members of the team.

Elsewhere in the draw, Tauranga City Utd AFC will also travel to the big city to face the University of Auckland side in their second round clash.
