Ngongotaha are back into the top four in the Waibop Federation One competition after defeating Melville.
Ngongotaha travelled to Hamilton on Saturday to play Melville United, defeating them 4-1.
Melville's first team defeated Ngongotaha 2-1 a few weeks ago in the Chatham Cup, but their Federation One side was nomatch for the Rotorua outfit on Saturday.
Ngongotaha scored two goals in both halves to claim the three competition points on offer. Players Zak Haua, Josh O'Sullivan, Jordan McKay and Jacob Davis all netted for the club.
Meanwhile, league leaders AFC Fury (Tauranga) defeated Hukanui Rototuna 4-2 to stay 11 points clear at the top of the table.
Rotorua United took another step towards promotion with a 5-1 victory over Tauranga City at Neil Hunt Park on Saturday.
Striker Brad Hill scored a hat trick while Josh Chemis and Dave Cheater also netted. United are currently in second spot in the Waibop Federation Two competition.
