Ngongotaha will play at home in the fourth round of the Chatham Cup against Melville United.

The Chatham Cup draw was done yesterday afternoon with Ngongotaha being drawn at home against Hamilton side Melville United.

Ngongotaha will feel the home draw has boosted their chances of making the Chatham Cup quarter-finals this year.

The local side have already registered a dream run in the cup competition, making the final 16 teams in the country after beating Hibiscus Coast 3-2 at the weekend.

The Chatham Cup round four match will be played on the weekend of June 28 and June 29.

There are only three Waikato/Bay of Plenty teams left in the cup competition including Melville United, Tauranga City United and Ngongotaha.

Ngongotaha are the lowest ranked side left in the competition but will be high on confidence going into their clash with Melville, who knocked them out of the cup competition last year with a 2-1 victory in Hamilton.

Melville United play in the Northern League First Division, the same competition as Hibiscus Coast, and made the semifinals of the Chatham Cup last year.

Only one Rotorua side has ever made the final of the Chatham Cup in the competition's 91-year history. Rotorua City made the final in 1989, losing to Christchurch United 7-1.

FOURTH ROUND

Games played June 28-29, home team listed first:

Northern Region: Bay Olympic v North Shore Utd, Ngongotaha AFC v Melville United, Central Utd FC v Glenfield Rovers, Tauranga City Utd AFC v Onehunga Sports.
