Celebrity chef Allyson Gofton will be sharing her tips and tricks at Rotorua Library as part of her nationwide tour to promote her latest book.

The last time Gofton came to Rotorua Library was 19 years ago in 2000 when she was promoting her Food in a Minute recipe books.

On May 6 she returns, having written several cookbooks in the interim.

From slow cooking, after-work meals, best muffins ever, to her hugely popular Food in a Minute books, Allyson has published thousands of mouth-watering recipes.

Now living in Cambridge, Allyson Gofton started as an apprentice chef in Tasmania, then worked as a food writer for the NZ Woman's Weekly, before becoming assistant to internationally renowned celebrity chef Graham Kerr.

It was during this time Gofton became well-known throughout the country as the popular presenter of the much-watched television Food in a Minute series for 13 years.

Allyson's visit to Rotorua Library is part of a nationwide tour to promote her latest book, The baker's companion, which contains more than 100 recipes for cakes, biscuits, tarts, slices, puddings, bread and yeast baking.
