The Living Well Church annual Christmas festive finale production will double as a collection for the Salvation Army foodbank.
Living Well Festive Finale director Liz Fowler said the Rotorua church was pleased to be involved in the Rotorua Daily Post Christmas Appeal to help supplement the Salvation Army's foodbank shelves.
Appeal donations are steadily building momentum with individuals and businesses handing in items of non-perishable food, toys and gift vouchers to the Rotorua Daily Post office, and Salvation Army Community Ministries office on Haupapa St.
"We are always prepared to support the Salvation Army because they do a lot of very good work in the community," Mrs Fowler said
"We believe it is important to support community churches to help the community spirit grow stronger."
The church will accept donations of non-perishable food items at the Festive Finale performance on Sunday, December 15. There will also be an offering at the same time for people wanting to make a gold coin donation to the Christmas Appeal, she said.
The hour-long performance, starting at 7pm, at the Living Well Church on Biak St will include carol singing, and a nativity play by Go Bananas student church group. A supper of coffee and cake will be served
Donations to The Rotorua Daily Post Christmas Appeal for the Salvation Army foodbank can be made at our Hinemoa St office 8am-5pm weekdays. People can donate money or non-perishable food. Food donations can also be made at the Salvation Army's Community Ministries at Community House on Haupapa St.
