It's almost 10 years since Esther Jacquet took the plunge and opened the Rotorua Caci Clinic - a brand that celebrates its 20th birthday this year.

In a nutshell, what does your business do?

At Caci we aim to help our clients to look and feel their best - we want everyone to feel confident in their skin. This is why Caci offers results focused skin treatments, hair removal and appearance medicine. We make this affordable by combining treatments into a programme personalised to suit each client's concerns and lifestyle along with an easy payment plan.

What inspired you to set up your current business?

I was always interested in the beauty industry and Rotorua didn't have anything specialised like Caci, therefore I took the challenge to open from scratch.

What was the best business decision you have made and why?

Opening a Caci franchise in Rotorua and growing it to what it is today. Also the brand really is the leader in the beauty and appearance medicine industry in New Zealand.

What was your worst business mistake (if any) and what did you learn from it?

We all make mistakes as you know but, touch wood, I can't recall any big one.

What do you see as the biggest opportunity for your business in the year ahead?

Caci is always looking to offer the most effective and proven skin treatments. Caci offers several skin treatment programmes that are personalised to the individual's skin concerns and can treat everything from pigmentation, wrinkles, scarring and everything in between.

If you could do any other job for a day, what would that be?

Right now, I don't have any other dream job I would like to be part of, I live and breath Caci and wouldn't change anything.

How do you maintain a healthy work/life balance?

I wake up early and go to bed early, exercise regularly, I love to cook and eat healthy food. Most importantly knowing when enough is enough and spending valuable time with family and socialising with the team.

What's the best thing about being in business in Rotorua?

As a small town, you know everybody and they know you. Also Rotorua is a very friendly environment to work.

If you were mayor of Rotorua for one day, what one change would you make?

If I had a magic stick I will change the central part of the city to make it more attractive, vibrant and active.
