Save New Rotorua mayor Steve Chadwick celebrates her election win with friends and family

Steve Chadwick has won the race for the Rotorua mayoralty. With more than 95 per cent of votes counted Mrs Chadwick had received 10,999 votes.
It's unclear the exact number of votes for incumbent Rotorua mayor Kevin Winters, however, it's believed he's picked up about
4500 votes.
The Rotorua Daily Post has spoken to Mrs Chadwick in the last hour and she said she was "overjoyed" with the result.
More details to come this afternoon as the new Rotorua District Council will be revealed, along with the rest of our election coverage.
