Cyclist in serious condition after crash in Rotorua's central city

A woman riding a bike has been taken to Rotorua Hospital in a serious condition following a crash near the central city this afternoon.

The crash happened on Fenton St near the corner of Te Ngae Rd at 2.20pm.

A member of the public called police with reports of a cyclist and a truck colliding, a police media spokeswoman said.

It was not yet clear if a truck was involved or how the cyclist had come off their bike, she said.

The road was partially blocked to traffic while emergency services cleared the scene.
