Nearby Fraser St was under siege when Bay of Plenty rising star Tom MacRury smashed 171 for Greerton on their way to a win over the Bay of Plenty Indians at Pemberton Park.

The home side batted first on Saturday and MacRury, who opened the innings with Charles Williams, was quickly into stride blazing away in an innings that included an incredible 11 sixes.

Greerton were well on their way to a big total when Williams was removed for 63.

Kent Hodder continued his side's frenetic pace and posted an unbeaten 66, when the home side declared late in their turn at bat at 329/3.

While facing a huge target, the Rotorua visitors were determined not to give their wickets away and it took the Greerton bowlers until the 52nd over to remove their opponents for 168.

Jayvant Dhanjee top scored with 45, while promising youngster Yohann Arani reached 31 before being dismissed.

Brett Hampton and Dan Spencer did the damage with the ball for the victors taking four wickets apiece.

Another young star of the future put his mark on the match between Te Puke and Rotorua Central at the Te Puke Domain.

Te Puke's Brody Gilroy grabbed five wickets for 38 runs as Central were bowled out for just 118.

Tai Bridgman-Raison anchored his team's six-wicket win with a gritty 58 not out.

Another big century came at Blake Park, where Bay of Plenty wicket keeper Tim Clarke belted 138 for Mount Maunganui against Whakatane United, as the Mount declared at 338/6.

Mount quick bowler Tony Goodin added an undefeated half century, with Matt Golding chipping in with 37 runs.

The Eastern Bay of Plenty visitors started out in a defiant mood and reached 95/1 at the first drink break.

While Whakatane skipper Alex Yates went on to post 62 runs, his side was bowled out for 156. Mount captain and part-time bowler Pete Drysdale did the damage taking a remarkable four wickets at a cost of just seven runs.

In the other game, Cadets defeated Tauranga Boys' College at Tauranga Domain by five wickets.
