Three business students from John Paul College have made their mark in an innovative competition held in Wellington.
Students Fintan Walsh, Justin Bell and Georgia Blatchford picked up second place at the National BP Innovation Be Road Happy Competition, held recently among schools across New Zealand.
The team had tocreate an innovative product that would spread BP's message - Be road happy.
The students are no strangers to creating and marketing a product, having done a similar project in their business studies class.
Their business for the competition was called Tiki Soaps.
The product was a Kiwi-themed, scented and coloured, hand-crafted soap in the shape of a tiki carving, which could be sold at BP stores. Local business I love Soaps helped the students create their product.
The competition was open to all Year 10 and 11 students throughout New Zealand.
For finishing second in the competition they each received an iPod nano and certificates.
