Three children have been thrown from a four wheel drive vehicle, which has rolled near Edgecumbe this afternoon.
Police said there were three children and three adults in the car. The three adults are trapped.
The crash happened around 12.35pm.
Otakiri Rd has been closed between Hazlett and Awaiti Southwhile emergency services work to free those trapped, attend to the injured and clear the scene.
Initial indications are that the injuries sustained are serious.
