A car has crashed into a building on King St in Whakatāne.

A police media communications spokeswoman said police were called to a crash at the rear of the Salvation Army Family Store on King St at 11.10am.

It appeared a car had crashed into a building, the spokeswoman said.

An eldery woman was being checked over by ambulance staff but it appeared to be a minor incident, she said.
