Dogs of all shapes and sizes will be on show at the Rotorua Kennel Association's Annual Dog Show tomorrow.

Dogs of all shapes and sizes will be on show at the Rotorua Kennel Association's Annual Dog Show tomorrow.

Everyone needs a best friend; they're the first ones to listen, they never offer criticism or offer unsolicited advice, and they are loyal to a fault.

You can never have too many of them either. So, if you're in need of a new bestie, the place to head is the Rotorua International Stadium this weekend.

The Rotorua Kennel Association (RKA) is holding its main event for the year, a two day Conformation All Breeds Dog Show for pure breeds.

Big, small, fluffy and flat haired, more than 100 breeds are on show and it's going to be a great day for members of the public says RKA president, Ros Mihaka.

"It's the day when people who are interested in getting a dog can really get a good education and find out all about the different breeds before they commit," she said.

"All breeders are members of the New Zealand Kennel Club and have a code of ethics and so it is an excellent opportunity for people to come along, learn about the pros and cons of each breed, and whether they would fit into your lifestyle."

Entry is by gold coin and will be donated to the Rotorua Martial Arts Group. Members of the public are asked not to bring their dogs along for the show.
