Rotorua's Aratika Cancer Trust invites those in the community who want to learn more about health and wellness to a talk by well-known cancer survivor Petrea King.
The Aratika Cancer Trust offers workshops and retreats exploring "evidence-based integrative medicine practices" to educate and empower people with a cancer diagnosis.
One of these retreats is being held from April 13 and will feature author and speaker Petrea King.
Although the retreat is fully booked, Petrea has offered to hold a talk which is open to everyone on April 10 at 6.15pm.
She will be sharing insights of her own cancer journey and what enables healing.
She has spent the last four decades coaching, teaching and supporting people with chronic illness to regain wellness and healing.
Aratika Cancer Trust manager Shelley Garden says if people are interested in healing or general wellness and health, for both themselves and others, they will find this lecture interesting.
It is a fundraiser for the trust's next retreat.
Local GP Dr Britta Noske says the talk will also be of interest to health professionals.
"This is a unique opportunity to hear someone who speaks from the heart.
"Find out about the 'four Cs' of health and wellbeing."
Some of Petrea's books and CDs will be for sale at the event.
The talk will be held at Prince's Gate Hotel, with tickets available for $20 from Capers Cafe, 1181 Eruera St and McLeod's Booksellers, 1148 Pukuatua St.
