Members of the public will line up mayoralty and council hopefuls tonight at a special function run by the Rotorua Chamber of Commerce supported by the Rotorua Daily Post.
It is the first of two meet the candidates functions, which will help the public decide who to vote for in October's Rotorua Lakes Council elections.
The Audience with the Candidates event is at the Novotel Rotorua Lakeside tonight from 5pm to 7pm.
The chamber and the Rotorua Daily Post is also holding a Mayoral Candidates Debate on September 13 at the same venue.
Rotorua Chamber of Commerce chief executive Darrin Walsh said tonight's event would be a chance for local business people to tell all candidates, mayoral and council, what they wanted to see from them if they were to be elected. It will be free for the general public to attend.
