Eastern Bay of Plenty police will next week conduct a road policing operation targeting drivers who drive while unlicensed and those breaching their graduated licence conditions.
The operation, between March 18 and 29, is in response to the high number of young people involved in crashes.
Since 2012 the number of young people involved in crashes has been declining.
In 2012 in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, 34 per cent of all crashes involved drivers who were unlicensed or breaching their graduated licence conditions.
In 2014 the number of drivers who were unlicensed or breaching their graduated licence reduced to 27 per cent.
