St Faith's Church will be turning 100 next year and funds are needed to ensure its legacy continues.
The Ohinemutu place of worship has partnered with New Zealand Maori Golf Association to host the St Faith's Charity Golf Tournament.
More than 25 teams will be taking part at the Lakeview Golf Course tomorrow to fundraise for the church's maintenance and help towards celebration events planned in 2014. Next year, St Faith's will also be dedicated as a Cathedral Church, a first in New Zealand.
New Zealand Maori Golf Association chairman Roku Mihinui was enthusiastic about the Ambrose-style golf day.
"Having the opportunity to contribute towards the restoration of such an iconic building is something that New Zealand Maori Golf really supports," he said.
