Students Robbie Whyte and Zoe Stephenson are still in shock after taking away the esteemed Supreme Award at this year's Rotorua Wearable Creations n' Colour Awards.
The awards, hosted by Jackie Clarke, went off without a hitch at the weekend with a packed venue and plenty of extravagant designs.
Forty-seven designs were modelled, accompanied by outstanding performances by Rotorua band Ward 16, singers Jessica McMillan and Aaron Fausett, local hip-hop crew Unit Y and dance group Amjazz Creative.
Western Heights High School students Robbie and Zoe took away three awards from Saturday night's awards - The Waiariki Institute of Technology Youth Section award, the Colour Concepts Most Colourful Design award and the Supreme Award.
Seventeen-year-old Robbie, who danced across the stage with the trophy, said winning had been "pretty magic" and he was still in shock. "It hasn't sunk in yet," he said.
It was the first time the pair had entered the awards and Robbie said he wasn't expecting to win anything.
"I was aiming for highly commended."
He said they begun working on their project only a couple of weeks ago but there had been a lot of "manpower" in those few weeks.
Robbie said Untitled 1 had been his idea but Zoe had played a big hand in putting the whole thing together.
Zoe said she was glad she had jumped on board with the project.
"Robbie had a really great idea and I wanted to help him execute it," she said.
She said artistically, the pair were on the same page.
"We bounced ideas off each other."
The 17-year-old said she was stoked at their success.
"I definitely wasn't expecting to win ... it's so surreal," she said.
As supreme winners, the pair were awarded one of the biggest prizes yet - a return trip for two to Rome, including a two-night stay in Singapore, one night in Rome and a 10-day five-star cruise around the Mediterranean.
They were also awarded a handful of other prizes for their other category wins on Saturday night.
