Collectors will be out in force in this area tonight.
If you live in the Wesbrook area, chances are you're going to get a knock on the door tonight from us.
The Rotorua Daily Post Christmas Appeal team will be out in force tonight collecting for the Salvation Army food bank.
Among those collecting will be staff from the RotoruaDaily Post, Rotorua MP Todd McClay and staff from his office and volunteers from the Rotorua Fire Service, Lake Okareka Volunteer Fire Brigade and Ritchies Transport.
The boundary area for the collection can drive is Pandora Ave, Orion St, Pegasus Dr, Pukehangi Rd and Malfroy Rd, and streets in between.
Anyone who is interested in joining us should meet at the large parking area near the Westbrook Surgery between 5.30pm and 6pm. The collection will finish at 8pm.
For residents in the area, put your donated cans in a bag and listen out for the fire engine sirens coming down your street with collectors. Money donations are also accepted but should be in a sealed envelope.
Donations to the Rotorua Daily Post Christmas Appeal for the Salvation Army food bank can be made at our Hinemoa St office between 8am and 5pm weekdays. People can donate money or non-perishable food. Food donations can also be made at the Salvation Army's Community Ministries at Community House on Haupapa St.
