Rotorua residents may need to pack their raincoats this week as showers are expected for the area.
Metservice meteorologist Andy Best said a number of small showers will sweep the region throughout the week.
The showers are expected to increase as the week goes on with a cold front comingup on Thursday that is likely to turn to rain, he said.
Looking at today, residents can expect cloudy conditions with a few showers developing this evening.
