What Judge Chris McGuire said at Nigel Dixon's sentencing this week:

"I have massive sympathy for his family. There's a duty though on those who suffer from mental health issues to do the best they can to be compliant with their mental health regime and medication and so on."

"In 2011 the court took particular care to ensure he got the interventions that were needed."

"I have massive sympathy for Mr Dixon's family who, like the majority of good families in this country, regrettably have to stand helpless on the sidelines while their loved one descends into deep psychosis as occurred here."
