Cyclist airlifted to from Rotorua to Middlemore Hospital with serious injuries

A person has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a cycling incident in Rotorua this morning.
A St John spokeswoman said the person was airlifted to Rotorua Hospital from the Whakarewarewa area.
The incident happened on a cycling track, she said.
A Lakes DHB spokeswoman said the cyclist
had since left Rotorua Hospital and was transferred by helicopter to Middlemore Hospital in Auckland.
An ambulance and a rescue helicopter were called to the scene about 8.40am.
