Police are still looking for the person who stole vital equipment from the Murupara community ambulance last week.
The community was left without the ambulance for a time after the important communication equipment was reported stolen last Thursday.
Thankfully, it was back on the road within two days as replacement devices came to the rescue.
The equipment was estimated to have been stolen between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning.
The stolen items included a mobile data terminal, an electronic patient report form, a hand-held radio and a mobile phone.
St John Lakes territory manager Leisa Tocknell told the Rotorua Daily Post in a previous article that the mobile data terminal was a "vital piece of equipment" for ambulance officers but useless to others.
She said the estimated value of the stolen equipment would be a few thousand dollars.
Police confirmed an incident was reported on the morning of March 14.
Inquiries were ongoing.
Crime scene investigators examined the ambulance following the burglary.
St John Murupara is a volunteer-first response unit. A team of eight volunteers from the local community respond to urgent ambulance calls in the area.
Anyone with information on the burglary is urged to contact police or return the items to the Murupara or Rotorua ambulance stations.
