Aucklanders continue to be the main people looking at Northland homes for sale while the largest number of foreigners viewing are Australians.
Northland's average asking house price in September was $588,000 which was a 7.4 percent fall compared to August when it climbed to a record higher of $635,122.
Figures supplied by realestate.co.nz - which has about 97 per cent of all properties listed for sale in New Zealand - shows of the 15,139 viewings in the first 24 days of October, 7632 were based in Auckland.
There were 3002 viewings from Northlanders, 751 from those in Queensland, 751 from Wellington, and 656 from those in New South Wales.

A further 574 came from Canterbury, 513 from Waikato, 455 from England, 431 from Bay of Plenty and 374 from the Australian state of Victoria.
Kerikeri continued to be the top suburb searched, with 1311 viewings followed by Mangawhai (819), Russell (761), Mangawhai Heads (672), Waipu (639), Paihia (601), Ruakaka (445), Kaitaia (431), Dargaville (408), and Kamo (384).
Top keywords were beach followed by Kerikeri, Whangārei, and waterfront.
Realestate.co.nz calculates the average asking price by taking all the residential properties in Northland, deducting the top and bottom 10 per cent of their values, averaging the remaining number then seasonally adjusting it.
