There were plenty of activities and entertainment on the go as Whangārei celebrated International Day of People with Disability at the Canopy Bridge yesterday.

The event ran from 10am to 2pm and included wheelchair races, special Olympics, paper making, Circus Kumarani, airbrush tattoos and a range of services stalls.

Northern Advocate photographer Michael Cunningham went along to capture the occasion.
