Whangārei police hunting mystery sedan after Warren Place shooting

Police are still hunting for answers after a car drove into a housing development and shot at a parked vehicle last month.

Officers were called to Warren Place, Woodhill, about 3am on April 23 after receiving reports of a shooting in the area.

A car was found peppered with bullet holes less than 300m from a primary school and 750m from Whangārei Hospital.

A police spokesperson said they believed the car had two occupants.

A vehicle linked to the shooting reportedly fled Warren Place and was last seen headed west on State Highway 14 towards Whangārei Hospital.

Police believe the vehicle is a white or silver four-door sedan.

They are appealing for information, dashcam or CCTV footage from the area between 2am and 3am on April 23 that could help identify the vehicle and its occupants.

Police previously wanted to hear from anyone who might have seen a white vehicle being driven “erratically” around that time in the Maunu area.
