Road open after serious crash closes SH10 near Kāeo

A recently closed section of State Highway 10 has re-opened following a serious crash around 10km south of Kāeo.

Two people in a serious condition have been airlifted to Whangārei Hospital and a third person in critical condition airlifted to Auckland City Hospital after a single vehicle crash on the Twin Coast Discovery Highway at 1.17pm today.

Two Northland Rescue Helicopters and a Westpac Helicopter from Auckland were called to the scene alongside two St John ambulances and a Rapid First Response Unit, a St John spokeswoman said.

The Serious Crash Unit will be examining the scene.
