Four men trying to run around every thoroughbred racecourse in New Zealand within six days cantered into Ruakaka Racecourse early on Saturday morning.
Led by Lance O'Sullivan, the most successful jockey in New Zealand history, the men were raising money for the Catwalk Spinal Cord Injury Trust.
Having started their quest at the bottom of the South Island on Easter Monday, the men reached their most northern point at Ruakaka on Saturday morning before heading to Auckland to run around Avondale and Ellerslie.
Whangarei Racing Club committee member Donna Logan said the men looked "remarkably well", considering they had run around the Dargaville Racecourse at 10.30 the night before.
With most tracks at a length of 2000 metres, the men were running two and a half marathons during their quest, Ms Logan said.
About 50 people turned up at Ruakaka Racecourse to support the runners and approximately $500 was raised. Overall, the Trackwalk for Catwalk event raised $25,000, Ms Logan said.
