A festival showcasing Far North talent, food and wine will be held this weekend as a farewell to summer.
The sixth annual Mangonui Waterfront Festival has grown in popularity over the years. When it started there were 45 stalls and this year there will be 113, event manager Jodi Betts said.
"In the first year we didn't have anything water based. Now we have sailing and paddleboarding and pontoons. It was quite a small and compact festival with about 1800 people and last year we had 5000," she said.
There will be two stages at tomorrow's festival. The chill-out zone which will feature low-key sounds like jazz and blues, and the main stage which will feature bands.
Both stages will host five groups each - all from the Far North.
