The venue for an ethnic football festival in Whangarei this weekend has changed.
Originally scheduled for William Fraser Park, the six-a-side tournament will be played at the Tikipunga Sports' Park from 9am to 3pm today.The tournament is organised by Multicultural Whangarei and supported by Whangarei Police, the Human Rights Commission, Venues and Events Whangarei, and Recreational Services.
Entry is free and ethnic food and barbecue, kids' bumper ball soccer and bouncy castle will be on display.
Teams that will take part are Fiji, Solomon Islands, Cook Islands, New Zealand, India, England, Scotland, Japan, Nigeria, Bulgaria, Ethiopia, Holland, and International.
The winner of the premier grade will represent Whangarei at the regional finals in Auckland on November 26 and 27.
