There was little sign of protesters at Te Tii Marae earlier today, possibly because of the pouring rain and the absence of the Prime Minister.
The PM pulled out of attending yesterday because of the marae's edict that he should not talk politics.
He is yet to announce his alternative plans.
Some media, including the Herald, have been blocked from going onto the marae without paying $750.
Marae trustee Hinewhare Harawira said the decision to charge the fee or deny entry was a change to tikanga because the marae was trying to take back control. She said the rule that no politics be discussed was another new rule.
