Save The armed offender's squad in the Whangarei suburb of Kamo has been stood down after an alert lasting several hours.
The squad was deployed just before 4pm today to a Charles St property after a reported firearm threat was made.
A cordon was put up and armed police converged on
the Whangarei suburb.
The cordons were lifted at 9.30pm this evening as police were unable to locate the offender in the area.
