Hawke's Bay kickboxer Tim Fairweather remains undefeated after five fights. In his fifth fight at Palmerston North last weekend Fairweather scored a unanimous points win over Manawatu's Shannon Martin. He was one of eight Bay fighters in action. Fellow Zero Tolerance fighter Natasha Bevan had her eighth fight and stopped Manawatu's AngelaBennett with a first round technical knock out. Her clubmate Easton Nicholas had his first amateur fight, and stopped his opponent Justin Storey 33 into the first round. Brent Paiyut Stone fought for the Thai Boxing Association New Zealand heavyweight title and won with a technical knockout of Wellingtonian Gareth Lewis after the referee stopped the fight after Lewis had been knocked down three times in the first round. Paiyut means storm in Thai, and is a nickname given to Brent by his Zero Tolerance trainer Dion Crouch as a reflection of the way he fights. In his third outing, Clint Durbin from Napier's Jackals club won his fight against Wellingtonian Justin Leighton by a unanimous points decision. Tainui Crouch celebrated his debut with a technical knockout win against Palmerston North's Dave Nicholls courtesy of a head kick. Experienced fighter Pumipi Ngaronoa fought a rematch against Gareth Everleigh, and proved to be too strong for the Manawatu fighter, winning by unanimous points decision. Geoff Ahipene, from Bulldogs Gym in Dannevirke fought his fifth fight against Trevor Salang from Palmerston North, winning by TKO in the second round while teammate Janna Vaughan beat Porirua's Tabitha May by a unanimous points decision.
