Hawke's Bay professional golfer Doug Holloway is on a roll.
Yesterday the 22-year-old from Te Pohue carded a six-under par 66 at the Middlemount Golf Club in Queensland for the outright lead. He has a one-stroke lead over Victorian Jonathan Abbott with Queenslander Benjamin Campbell another shot behind on four-under 68
in the two-day $A15,000 Foxleigh/CapCoal Middlemount Pro-Am. On Sunday, Holloway was joint winner of the $A20,000 Emerald Pro-Am with fellow Australian professionals Matthew Ecob and Stuart Bouvier.
Former Bay amateur representative Guy Penrose, who is based in Cambridge, near Hamilton, is tied for eighth place at two-under 70 at the par 72 course. Other Kiwis Franz Schwanner is tied for 29th place on one-over par 73 and Luke Nobilo is second to last in equal 52nd spot on seven over par 79.
