The time has come, the Hawke's Bay Chamber of Commerce and Pan Pac Forest Products Ltd, kick off the 2021 Pan Pac Hawke's Bay Business Awards by celebrating business success from Central Hawke's Bay to Wairoa.
Celebrations began with the Awards Launch on Wednesday, 28th July at the Napier Municipal Theatre Foyer.
Over 70 people joined the event, where we heard from Jeremy Harker from Quality Roading Services, the 2021 Supreme Award winner. Jeremy shared the journey of why Quality Roading Services entered the awards, he spoke about process and the positive outcome winning had on the business. Jeremy said, "it gave their team a sense of Mana".
Jeremy highlighted that the benefit is in the process, which is ultimately a means of learning, if you're lucky enough to secure a winning spot, that's the cherry on top!
This was QRS's second time entering the awards, in 2019 they didn't place, but that didn't stop them from trying again in 2020, they went away and reviewed areas of the business the judges said needed improving, these changes were implemented, and it seriously paid off when QRS won the award for Outstanding Community Contribution and then ultimately took out the Supreme Award.
The esteemed awards are broken up into six categories, celebrating success in a range of areas:

New to the line-up in 2021 is Best Emerging Business (recognising a start-up business experiencing tangible growth and success) and the Ultimate Visitor Experience (honouring an organisation that enriches the Hawke's Bay region and provides an excellent experience for visitors).
Another exciting unveiling was the new-look awards branding, including a geometric bird that represents soaring to new heights of success, the geometric lines represent 'pathways' connecting people and networks in this region. Together we work better, we are stronger and more resilient when we all succeed.
