Woman remains in serious condition after Napier crash

A woman in her forties remains in a serious condition in intensive care at Hawke's Bay Hospital after a crash in Napier yesterday.

The "serious crash" took place between Latham St and Georges Dr and the Serious Crash Unit attended.

The St John Ambulance received the 111 call at 19.13pm and said only one person was taken to hospital.

A police spokesman said that "cordons are in place and we advise motorists to avoid the area while emergency services are in attendance"

A Napier resident said there were quite a few police cars in attendance and the road had been closed off.

They were at the scene for more than an hour, he said.

He believed it involved a Black 4WD and possibly a white car, that had been removed from the scene soon after.

Another local thought it had been between a car and bicycle, but it is still unknown who was involved.
