HIGHLIGHT The Te Matatini National Kapa Haka Festival is one of the many things to do this weekend in the Bay.

Hawke's Bay has plenty of activities and events for people of all ages to enjoy.
We list 14 of the best on offer this weekend.

1. Te Matatini National Kapa Haka Festival
Te Matatini is a significant cultural festival and the pinnacle event for Māori performing arts. Held every two years, it is one of the most highly anticipated events for performers, their whānau and the mass of passionate kapa haka fans throughout the world.
*Sports Park Hawke's Bay, Percival Rd, Hastings. Continuing today, from 8am to 7.30pm, before wrapping up tomorrow from 9am to 3.30pm. Tickets apply.

2. 47th Annual Waiwhare Sports Day 2017
Waiwhare's ever popular, old-fashioned Sports Day is a great day out for the whole family, with something for everyone. Pony and Horse event, push-along bike, bicycle and motorbike events, and running races, as well as stalls and raffles plus much more will be on offer.

3. Black Barn Growers' Market
Open every Saturday of summer, the market has seasonal produce, freshly baked breads, locally roasted coffee, flowers, organic veges and more.

5. Seaweek - Keep Napier Beautiful
A children's event decorating reusable cloth bags at the National Aquarium. Aquarium admission fees apply.

6. Seaweek - Estuary Walk
Take a one hour walk along the estuary pathway and learn about why the estuary is important and the unusual animals that live there. Meet at Embankment Road Carpark (opposite the Westshore Tavern).

7. Dewar Cup - Polo 2017
Come and watch the polo action at Elwood Park. Teams will be playing for the prestigious Dewar Cup. Entry is free for spectators and all are welcome. The finals will be held tomorrow.

8. Summer Sessions

11. Jazz On the Village Green - Portrait of Jaco
Kiwi virtuoso bassist Dan Fulton pays homage to musical legend Jaco Pastorius. Fulton's ensemble is rounded out by the talents of Anton Wuts (sax/keys) and internationally renowned Will McClure (drums), plus surprise guests.

13. Seaweek - Seawalls Mural Tour CBD Walk

14. Summer In the Park - Marty's Juke Joint
Marty's Juke Joint brings together rock' n roll, jump blues, swing and a mixture of hep-cat Jive. Formed by double bass player Marty Forrer, the band features rhythm guitarist Ian Turbitt, Jackie Gibson on vocals, Richard Nicholson on electric guitar, and drummer Darryl Jones, along with Peter Charlton-Jones.
