A new wine range is focused on showing the best of Bay grapes.
Kidnapper Cliffs is a collaboration between Ant Mackenzie of Te Awa Winery and Neil McCallum of Dry River, based in Martinborough.
The companies were owned by the same family and Mr Mackenzie said this was a chance to work together using wine-making ideas pioneered in Martinborough, combined with Te Awa fruit.
"It's a unique range, different to what everybody else is doing around here," he said. "It's a disciplined wine making approach. We wanted to champion the quality of the site and the quality of the fruit."
Five wines have been released with three more planned for next year. Assistant winemaker Cameron McInnes said they hoped to produce wines that would last and would cellar well.APN News & Media
