"This is work that has been led by ServiceIQ as part of Industry Training Organisation role of advocating for workforce development", the spokesman said.
"The Road map covers the sector that we have a government mandate for (aviation, hospitality, retail, travel, tourism and museums).
"The Regional Road maps are follow-up work from the creation of a national workforce development framework and plan that was completed in 2015 and updated last year.
"Each Road map was developed with consultation and input from people in the region (local council, employers, educators, local reps of relevant government departments etc). In the Bay that included Nimon & Sons, Min of Education, Corrections, Workforce Development, Quest, Scenic Hotels, MSD, Napier City Council, Ziera, William Colenso College, Red Cross, Napier Conference Centre, Dish catering and Hastings City Art Gallery."
The road map would contain region-specific actions designed to address six priorities for employers.
The road map aimed to attract and retain people with the right attitude and aptitude, increase the number of able school leavers transitioning into the sector, and increase access to and engagement with training.
It would also develop and maintain high quality qualifications and programmes that meet the needs of industry, increase productivity by developing core skills, and improve business and management capability.
