Six60 will be playing across Aotearoa over six weekends in January and February 2021 and Hawke's Bay fans will be able to get their fill in January.

On January 23, the band will be playing at Showgrounds Hawke's Bay Tomoana with Shapeshifter, Kings, Maimoa and Nouri.

The band, Dannevirke's Eli Paewai (drums), Ji Fraser (lead guitar), Napier's Marlon Gerbes (synths, samples), Matiu Walters (vocals, guitar) and Hoani Matenga (bass), started Six60 as a covers band while they were studying at the University of Otago in Dunedin.

When Matenga left the band, Chris Mac took over as bass player.

Their band name comes courtesy of the flat they proudly called home at the time, 660 Castle St.

They primarily covered Kiwi bands at the forefront of NZ reggae at the time.

Then, in 2010, they released the song Rise Up 2.0. It peaked at number one on the New Zealand Singles Chart and cemented them as an act worth paying attention to.

The rest, as they say, is history.

It is set to be another groundbreaking tour for the multi-platinum selling band who recently sold more than 130,000 tickets to their 'Saturdays' tour earlier this year.

This time Six60 will be taking on new cities and large outdoor venues.

Each concert will have a handpicked lineup of musical guests with each show being its' own exclusive experience.

Fans joining the tour will be treated to the first live performance of some of SIX60's latest material.

The band have been working on some brand-new tracks throughout this year, following up from last year's epic release that produced stand out hits 'The Greatest', 'Please Don't Go', 'Long Gone' and 'Sundown'.

Six60 Saturday 2021 will be the largest outdoor concerts Kiwi fans will be able to attend since the Covid-19 lockdown.

Ticket pre-sales open at noon on October 15 and general tickets will be on sale from noon on October 19.
