Name suppression lifts for Napier woman accused of Marewa murder

A woman charged with murdering a man in Napier last month can now be named.

Eraita Nohopapa Cooper, 26, from Napier, was arrested after the incident in Marewa on Friday, January 16.

Emergency services were called to a Savage Cres property late that morning, after reports a man had been assaulted.

Nikora Edmonds died at the scene.

Cooper was arrested at the scene and charged with murder.

She appeared briefly in the High Court in Napier on Wednesday, where she was remanded in custody until her next High Court appearance on April 1. She did not enter a plea.

There was no application to continue name suppression.

No application for bail was made.
