SH2 between Kotemaori and Putorino is blocked due to a truck rolling this morning. Photo / NZTA

State Highway 2 between Kotemaori and Putorino is now open under stop/go traffic management after a truck rolled closing the road this monring.

The truck rolled at 7.04 am blocking both lanes and police said it could take hours to be removed.

The road was re-opened to one lane at 11.15 am.

Delays are still expected as contractors continue to clear the road.

At 10.40am a tow truck arrived on site attempting to recover the vehicle.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.
