Police have made a further public appeal for help in tracking and identifying two men who allegedly attacked a woman in Maraenui Park in Onekawa just over a fortnight ago.
The 46-year-old was left distraught and nursing injuries after the incident which happened about 4am on April 24.
Detective SergeantJason Crowe said part of the investigation had been to find and speak to the occupants of a white van seen leaving the Curling Crescent area near the park.
"They did come forward," Mr Crowe said.
One of the people in the van had seen the story about the incident and called shortly afterwards. They were not linked to the incident in any way but police wanted to clear them formally from the inquiry.
