A team of 100 will be out in force next month doing their bit to fight back against cancer.

Property Brokers have been the main sponsor of Relay for Life Hawke's Bay for 12 years and regional manager Paul Whitaker said they were remaining right behind it.

Staff members and their families are already gearing up for the big day on March 4 where they will show their support for the Cancer Society.

"It is amazing seeing so many mates and colleagues benefiting from the good work the charity do and it is so rewarding to do our bit and to help as a team."

Mr Whitaker said the Cancer Society do a tremendous job and as they don't receive government funding required a significant amount of fundraising.

"The charity rely a lot on money being raised so it is something we take seriously and get right in behind."

Alongside entering multiple teams in to the relay Property Brokers hold a charity auction before or after the main event each year.

Since starting 12 years ago the real estate company has raised more than $400,000.

"I think it is really important to note that all of the money stays in Hawke's Bay. This means everything raised stays locally and is used on locals who need it most."

This year's auction is taking place on March 16 at the Hawke's Bay Opera House.

There will be drinks, nibbles, entertainment and then the auction.

Already landing on the Property Brokers doorstep was some interesting lots of bikes, holidays and jewellery.

"We are still looking for more so if anybody has any lots they would like to donate and have on display on the night please let us know."

Those wanting to help support the Cancer Society can purchase tables of 10 for $250 from any Property Brokers office in Hawke's Bay.

"It is a great night of fun and entertainment."

Mr Whitaker said supporting the Cancer Society was something the organisation were passionate about.

Hawke's Bay Cancer Society manager Trudy Kirk said this support from Property Brokers was such a vital ingredient to Relay for Life and the running of their organisation.

"My team enjoy working with Paul, he is passionate about our charity and we very much appreciate the wonderful fundraising efforts each year from the Property Brokers team."

She said the charity's aim was to make a positive difference to the lives of those in the community living with cancer, and the help of Mr Whitaker enables them to do that.

Relay for Life kicks off at 11am at the Hawke's Bay Regional Sports park on March 4.

Registrations closed on February 10.
