First symptoms:

High fever
Runny nose
Cough
Sore throat
Red or watery eyes
After a couple of days:

A red blotchy rash that usually starts on the face and spreads to the rest of the body.
What to do:

Ask your GP if your immunisations are up-to-date.
Parents can check their child's immunisation history with Plunket or
the National Immunisation Register (NIR) for children under 5.
Phone your GP or call Healthline (toll-free) on 0800 611-116 if you have any symptoms.
Phone ahead before visiting your GP to minimise spreading the virus.
Measles can't easily be treated once you get it. The only way to prevent the disease is through immunisation.
