Some have labelled it a recipe for divorce but for Hawke's Bay Magpies fans it's a case of rugby heaven.
This season's ITM Cup sees the greatest abundance of first-class rugby played within the shortest space of time in the professional era. The teams must cram 72 games into seven weeks.
For
the Peter Russell and Tom Coventry-coached Magpies their campaign starts today against Manawatu Turbos in Palmerston North. Starting is marquee signing, winger Tu Umaga-Marshall.
The Magpies will barely have time to breathe between battles - their second match is on Tuesday against Southland at McLean Park - as they attempt to muscle their way to the top of the Championship and gain promotion to the Premiership next year.
The quick-fire season will require commitment and stamina from Magpies fans as they attend games, travel to away clashes and take in as much televised coverage of other matches as they can stay awake for.
Fitting in sleep and work when your team may be playing three games within 10 days will be tough.
Check out the number of sick days you have owing - they may come in handy.
