End-of-year exams are enough for a 16-year-old to cope with, but somehow Kelsey Riddell has managed to include winning a modelling competition, being picked up by an agency and gracing the pictures of a fashion magazine this year. Pretty good for a girl off a Patoka farm. Kelsey, who up until thisyear had always wanted to be a winemaker, took her Mum's suggestion and entered the Rodney Wayne model search a few days before the competition closed and in August was flown to Auckland for an interview. Being announced the winner meant Kelsey had to get a new hairstyle and she was transformed from a blonde to a brunette for the photo shoot. The photos taken are now gracing the glossy pages of 36,000 issues of Fashion Quarterly. But the Napier Girls' High School boarder is taking it all in her stride and even insisted on finishing her Year 12 exams when her new agency Red 11 asked her to come to Auckland.
